Spaces within the architecture of our human bodies take on the realm of “sacred” due their amplitude of energy. Any access point in our body can be a portal to the infinitude of the Universe but there are few locations of particular interest that have been recognized through the yoga traditions for millennia. These are: our central channel, our heart, our core, and our crown. When our awareness in one of those centers is blocked or stagnated, the energy in the correspondent physical area will not flow optimally. Thus, we might feel disconnected, disempowered or even disembodied. In this workshop we will explore these sacred arenas within our bodies endeavoring to reconnect them through meditation, asana flows and lecture to reawaken the numinous space within.

Friday – 5:30 – 8:30p.m. Madhya: Journey to the Center. Establishing the central channel as the vertical axis of movement in the body, this class will create a series of dynamic asanas using the midline not only as the point of reference to create an easeful and dynamic flow, but to remember the still point of potential from where we came.

Saturday morning – 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Hridaya: Journey to Mind of the Heart. This uplifting, energetic flow will combine the inner landscape with studied information into the architecture of the body to create both structural support and an inner feeling sense as we journey to the center of the heart through backbends.

Saturday afternoon – 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. Remembrance: Journey to the Ground of Being. Our natural state is the expansion of space resulting in moving into the parasympathetic nervous system. This class will utilize hip openers, forward bends, pranayama and organ sensibility to ground, and open into our inner expansion tipping us into remembrance of our authentic Self.

Sunday - 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Lila: Journey to the Realm of Possibilities. Our body structure is a shining example of dynamic architecture of possibility. In this energetic class we will play with arm balances, inversions, and dynamic poses to explore the body’s capacity to play through form and movement.

**BONUS Teachers’ Lab on Friday 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. Explorations in Embodied Anatomy This session is open to teachers and practitioners who want to get a handle on moving from the feeling sense and how to guide others to do the same. An opportunity to dive deeper into the inner landscape. This workshop will focus on very specific body centers (pineal, organs, upper palate, hyoid) to discover how we can utilize inner body sensitivity for deeper experience in asana. Subjects will include lecture, partner work, and application to teaching. Please note, attendance to the teachers lab requires attendance to at least two of the other sessions. Without the context of the other sessions, the teaching lab will not be as effective.
