Please note the venue of this workshop is at the Massey University T21 Recreation Centre, accessible via Entrance E at 90 Tasman Street. There is a little bit of free parking available here, first come, first served.
Yoga recognizes that the obstacles and challenges we face in this life are not merely physical or external.
Every time we step into an asana, we encounter not only a physical form but “our Self” AND our own personal history of patterned programmed responses to challenge, crisis, and opportunity. The container of practice allows us to develop our awareness so that we become capable of taking a raw honest look at all of our “stuff” as it arises. The potential of practice is to cultivate and develop the qualities of mind and heart that will empower us to make skillful choices about how we can best respond to the immediate moment.
Beyond the suppleness of our body, beyond the power of the breath, this deep inner intention is what makes our expression of yoga poses uniquely and artistically HUMAN.

Katie (Lane) Turner
Katie (Lane) Turner has been teaching heart empowering yoga for over ten years. Deeply informed by bio-mechanical principles of alignment and her studies of Tantric Yoga philosophy, Katie is known for her creative ability to weave the power of intention into physical practice in ways that are accessible, down to earth, physically transformational, and soulfully inspiring. Katie was a Certified Anusara teacher and is recognized by Yoga Alliance as ERYT-500.
